I'm driving a 49 3600 with 16x 6 wheels.
Anyone have a good tire they recommend that won't put me in the poor farm?

Original wheels?

6 bolt (3100) or 8 bolt (3600) wheels?

I get you, truck tires are very pricey, I've done pretty good finding newer take offs, guys swap out perfectly good tires for giant size. Also switched to Ford 8 lug rims from old splits. May try Craig's list for good used tires. LT235/85R16 Goodyears.
Best of luck

I've had great luck picking up a couple of sets of barely used tires at a nearby off road/custom 4WD shop. Customer's happy to get a few bucks for the takeoffs (vs. "disposal fee") and the shop's happy not to store or sell them off for pennies. I would guess half of the takeoffs at a shop like that would fit your truck--as they're swapped for oversize knobbies.
