Can I get some input about going with the GPS option. Pro's and con's? Thanks.

Tire size and gear ratios make no difference plus mine displays the posted speed limit. I still have to use my Garmin to locate an address but maybe more modern ones do that also. Drive the old car all over the U.S. and used to have spots where speedo went dead but that almost never happens now.

I am thinking it would not work under the dash. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 | Because my programmable speedometer quit I used a GPS download to my cell until I reprogramed the speedo. I used this mount very stable. Other than the mount no other modifications needed.

A clean view of the sky is best but have found that they are very forgiving as to mounting positions. Just mount it temporarily where you want it and test. Remember that gps works by receiving signals from acending and descending satellites (24) in a constellation type orbit, so a 'side' view is a good idea.

George They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though.
