I was told I need to use a 47-53 Bell to get the 4-5/8 hole size but now wondering if I can still use the foot pedal with this newer housing? I haven't bought it yet, but from the pics the foot pedal linkage doesn't appear to be there? Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm getting frustrated with all the pieces not lining up to get this thing in the road- thx | | | | Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 1,300 Moderator for Tons o' Fun , Co-Moderator Driveline Forum | Moderator for Tons o' Fun , Co-Moderator Driveline Forum Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 1,300 | Yes the 47-53 had the foot stomp linkage. They may have removed the linkage from the bell housing, there should be a set of two holes on each side of the bell housing near the top for the linkage. If you are not familiar with the linkage go on ebay and do a search for 1953 Chevy Truck Foot Stomp Starter. You should get several examples for viewing. If you can't find the correct bell housing, do an internet search, try posting in parts wanted in the stovebolt forum or contact Rpm Motorsports 507-377-1138 they should be able to help you. They are in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Other real live experts on this site might chime in with more detail. If you need more info I'll try to help, pm me for contact information.
