I have a 42 1-1/2 truck that I am restoring and just want to know if I need to change and thing on the gauges or will they be ok/ handle the 12 volt power without any trouble
I will be able to up grade every thing else ok I'm just concerned about the gauges themselves

Get a resistor/regulator from a specialty supplier. It is called a Runtz. Some suppliers have the equivalent under their own brand. The oil gauge works by pressure & the temp. gauge has a capillary tube. The amp. meter doesn't care if its 12 or 6 volts, unless you have a high powered altinator that would run too many amps through it.

I just got a new one in about 3 days. A lot of the electrical in my 54 is from there. They have an online site.
