Take the hose that goes from the heater off at the block.
Put the waterpump hose on to the block fitting and the block hose onto the other heater connection.

It is vacuum operated so it is easy to turn on or off. We get plenty warm in the summer during the day but sometimes it is a bit chilly in the morning or evening an a bit of heat is nice. Or if it rains and I want the heat on for the defroster.

Coolant won't reverse flow . All vehicles that have a shutoff only use one. I have a small leak in my heater core and it doesn't leak with the valve closed. If that helps.. | | |
