I am installing a new bed on my '49. Because I have airbags I need to raise the bed about 2 inches. First what kind of blocks [and/or where can I get them] should I use. Also when we weld in the new angle to the bed sides I want to put stainless covers over them... (so as to not discolor) Does someone sell those pre punched. And lastly when installing covers won't there be a bit of a gap on the bed side of the covers are not bolted to the sides?

You could simply cut your own to the desired height. It would be tall and may be a bit wobbly. If you are building a street machine why not build them out of square tubing? Put rubber pads in and that may solve your issue. I have never used the covers, they are sold as described. In two spots at the fender bolts they are secured, you could add small bolts at the ends to kill the gap. | | |
