My '47 AD 3100 is a "plain Jane". Three window, painted grill, 3 speed on the floor. The P0 tried his best to do upgrades but was clearly over his head. My point is many unusual changes were made. I'm trying to redo this as a driver but want to keep it close as I can to the original.
So I have to ask folks who are smarter than I some questions---so I can get smarter and not just be a "smart $&?".
My Question after reading many posts here, was there a standard color for door panels, headliner etc?
I know vendors have different colors available but were they ALL available during that time period? Or are they now manufactured to suit individual tastes as they appear to be interchangeable?
Any help you can offer would really be appreciated!!,

No one has reported find a color/mix/formula from Dupont.

There have been many posts here discussing modern matching colors/codes.

Thanks for all of the info. What I'm interested in what about the door panels, optional visors and arm rests? Were they commonly Black on base models? Could they be ordered with the customers preference?
I'm basically trying to find out answers tomquestions I don't seem to answer.
I've researched and read posts concerning interior paint colors including the comparisons Denny Graham made.
This site answers so many questions I have that when they are answered, I have 10 new ones!

A hint to what colors were readily available is sometimes (but, not always) found in a Master Parts & Accessories Catalog (a few are on-line) and/or in a Salesman Truck Data Book (for your year, and maybe "nearby" years - none are on-line).

If I remember (I get distracted more easily as I age) I'll check the 1947 Truck Data Book, but I'd bet only one truck color was available for most od thos interior parts in 1947).

The bottom line is, use whatever colors your like - unless you want "period correct" colors (if they are known).

Thanks Tim for the info and pointing me in the right direction. As I suspected there were choices-minimal- that were originally available. I'm safe if I choose any of my preference from the colors originally available. Vendor have an array of colors that I questioned for my vehicle and don't want some bizarre color. As I said earlier, I'd like it to be as true to correct as I can be OR afford!!!

Maroon for the seat cover, arm rests, and the door panels was definitely an option for most if not all ADs, and man does it look nice. Jim Carter sells a nice representation of the original maroon vinyl for the seat and the door panels (these are sold as a piece of vinyl which you glue onto the cardboard).
I went with the brown headliner and it looks very nice.

What year and what type of Chevrolet truck?

I do not see many pre-1954 interior options, and the pre-1953 deluxe interior RPO does mention color differences for carboard panels or arm rests?

My 1954 Suburban has maroon door panels and arm rests (standard color) - they were brown in 1953 or earlier Suburbans. Panels, Suburbans, and regular cab A-D trucks had different color panels/arm-rests - maybe brown, black, maroon?

Nonetheless, use whatever color combo suits your tastes, and suits the interior color you choose.

Both of you offer interesting insights into "standard" or optional colors. The original path of seat cover on my truck was maroon. Ordered the cover from Labaron Bonney. Well pleased with the material. The clips too were well made. The clip ends weren't sharp and there was no danger of ripping the cover while pushing the clips over the material and the seat frame.
You information will help me decide on the color scheme.
I wonder if the factory ever mixed maroon upholstery and black door panels as a standard practice? Or perhaps some other mixture? After reading here that sometimes there was a carryover of parts from model year to mod,el year just to use up inventory. Perhaps then if true, any combination of interior colors was possible ? Geez that could be the $64,000 Question!

I like documentation for knowing what seems to have been available/standard.
In this "phase", I do not care much what people have seen, or what they have heard.

HOWEVER, I fully believe and support the following philosophy/song when anyone is choosing for THEIR truck: "Do What You Like"
