Hi everybody,

I have a dilemma for you regarding a document of my Truck. For info, I own a 1953 Chevrolet 3100 and the previous owner(who was also the 1st owner of the truck) gave me many invoices & documentation back the 50's.

I don't understand this one particularly. That's not a sale invoice, nor a maintenance paper.

If someone have an idea, moreover I'm French and some words are rather complex!.

Thank you for reading
Regards from France

Others may chime in. It looks like a build sheet for your truck. The form lists the options when it was built.
Nice paper to have.

Little Chevy,

You have the Holy Grail of vehicle documentation.

Here is a 1953 GM document that will help you decode that information.

Also, Ocean Green is a very beautiful and very rare color.

If you have questions on specific entries, please ask them.

I'd be curious to know if it's numbers matching.

Thank you very much for your answers.

So if I understand this document comes from the factory and list all the options of the Truck when it's left the factory....

Thans for your help, I couldn't have found it by myself.

Cablesmill,
I have checked Serial / Engine / Rear Axle numbers...and they match. Still haven't found Transmission number.

Moreover I can find all the options mentioned in the form on the Truck...

...but there's something strange, I have other options(windshiels washer foot operated, heater and defroster...) that have been originally installed by the 1st owner on the Truck. I mean installed from new. These one are not listed on the form but on a separate sheet of paper which comes from the Dealer. Does it mean that they habe been fitted by the Dealer?. Are the accessories?.

Some of you may konw....

That's because some options were installed at the factory and others were installed by the dealer. Nowadays, they're almost always factory installed.

It is almost unheard of for that kind of documentation to survive with a vehicle, especially one 60-something years old. Be sure to preserve it in as good a condition as possible, maybe in clear plastic document protectors or some other method of preventing the paper from deteriorating. Good find!
