But my machinest decided to help me out and painted it before I picked it up. He was so proud of his sky blue paint job, I didn't have the heart to tell him it needed to be more gray than blue. A gallon of paint thinner and 3 hours of wiping and I am down to the metal again.
I bought my paint from the filling station.

I thought the engines of the 52's were a light gray.. were they dark gray?

Several vendors sell paint that they say matches the original. Jim Carter\'s is gray. Classic Truck Parts (Chevy Duty) color is a light blue. The Gray that they sent me was very, dark, charcoal Gray, looks black unless your out in the bright sunlight.

Part number and source, if possible too? Did this engine have any decals?
