The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Tons 'o Fun Start up

After 4 years of repair rebuild and cleanup I started the old girl up today.
I put 10 gallons of fresh premium grade gas in the tank and after cranking with no plugs and checking the compression in all cyls all at (90 to 95 not to bad for being cold, I'll check again with the engine warmed up). The fuel pumped into the bowl and up to the carb. A little dribble of gas down the air cleaner and with choke out fingers crossed I stomped on the starter. Within a couple of turns over what a amazing sound and feeling. I still have a couple of issues with electrical but SHE'S RUNNING. My goal this year has been to have it ready for History Road show at Reynolds Museum on June 10-11. See you there Howie and Fox looking forward to it!

Awesome! I just started mine up after rebuilding it over the winter. No better feeling than hearing he come to life.

I thought I could hear engine purring and a shout of joy!

I sure hope you jumped into the air, fist pumped, clicked your heels together and jumped around like a school kid... I do every time an engine I resurrect breaths again. Dirt bikes, sleds, trucks, it doesn't really matter. It really is an awesome feeling. I am also looking forward to the show in Wetaskiwin. See you boys there.
