Hey Everyone! Ive had my 1954 Chevrolet 3600 for about two years now. I received it as an incomplete project, and after a lot of practice( replacing EVERYTHING) I finally made it road worthy( kind of..)

I am about to install a drop axle, new wheels and tires, and I have had a heck of a time trying to find information on the setup I was looking for, so I thought I would make this thread.

When I purchased it.

Now onto the important stuff.(Copy, Paste the below format, and add a picture of your truck.) Try to show the front and side if you can!

Truck: 1954 Chevy 3600 3/4 Ton

Suspension:
Front: Stock Axle, Flipped Springs
Rear: C Notch, Flipped Axle
Shocks: Unknown

Wheels: Stock 15" Splits
Bolt Pattern: 8x6,5
Tires: Firestone 700-15 (Which is most similar to a 225/75 R15)

It appears to me you are looking for pictures of heavily modified trucks. I moved you to the HiPo shop.

Your links aren't working? Photobucket can be a troublesome site.

Gnarly,

Take a look at mine. It is all original, however, I had front axle bent 4 inches and rear end dropped 3 inches using blocks. Front axle is about 4.5 inches off the ground. I have a hard time using trailers. All shocks and leaf springs are original. I have a ruler laying by the front axle. In the picture I am not level with camera and you can still see the 2 x4 under both tires.

Just be sure that you have everything above the "scrub line".

You should be able to have the truck roll with either front tire removed from the rim, without anything dragging on the ground.

Also, you'll need to have your steering arms corrected for the drop- especially for the drag link angle.

You can find examples of trucks on Nostalgia Sid's website: droppedaxles.com

I used Sid at dropped axles. Like Dave stated, ensure you have it all planned out and calculate your scrub line more than once. I screwed it up and went lower then I should have.
