after many years of searching I finally found old east ridge engine 2 a 1948 chevy 6400 custom built into a fire engine

foreseeable issues are sourcing brake parts any help is greatly appreciated

A little bit more on the truck she is a 48 loadmaster with the 235 strait 6, 4 speed with 2 speed rear, open cab with custom made fire bed 500 gpm darley pump and im not sure on how much water she will hold. she has been sitting since the 90s under cover hopefully i will have her up running and driving by the fall.
if anyone has any old fire equipment they are looking to get rid of im looking for a wooden ladder, pike poles, pick head axe, extinguishers etc.
also looking for some red glass lenses with fire etched in them for the tail lights and one light on the engineer fender
dont have any measurements for them right now but i will soon

Wooden extension ladders are not to hard to find, keep a eye out at local farm auction/sales. They can be cut if you find one thats to long. The roof ladder may be a little harder to find.

Measure the lens you need and do a search on ebay, there are always glass lenses for sale there.

Yes Don, the roof ladder will have swing out hooks to allow it to be hooked over the ridge of the roof or to hook on a balcony rail and leap frog your way to the top of a building. It will also be narrow enough to nest inside the Base Section of the extension ladder (same size as the Fly Section) when racked on the truck.

Might want to check with your local FD. Some times when a ladder fails it's annual service test they send it to the aluminum scrap recycle bin. If you can convince the FD it will not be used other than on an antique pumper or ladder truck , you might be able to get one. Havent seen any wooden roof ladders but you might be able to find a vintage pompier ladder, they are cooler than a run of a mill roof ladder anyday. Most are out of service unless you live in a third world country.
