I'm giving up on my lever shocks- I'm missing the link arms, and one is frozen up.

Based on my measurements one ton brackets are totally different size than the small half tons, due to the bigger springs, correct? I see people sell kits on ebay with everything, but I don't think they'll work. I have both a 1/2 ton front axle and my 1 ton to compare.

I need left & right lower shock mount brackets for TUBULAR shocks. I have a '49 3800 with bad lever shocks and would like to install tubes.

Anyone know of a source? I've tried calling carters, and I've now posted a wanted ad here. Are 4100 and 4400 the same sizes? (but probably not too common)

I don't really want to resort to my fab skillz, or paying the local fab / weld shop.

Also, the brackets for the lever type that I have are flat, not angled. I don't think they'll bend- they look to be a casting of some sort.

You may be able to use something like this. It's for a 55-59 truck. The 55-59 used 2" springs like the early 3800.

Check out Ecklerstrucks.com search part # 61-247541-1.
I put them on my 48 3600, so far so good. I put in new ubolts for mounting also. I have found it is easier to torch old suspension bolts then fight them.
