Hoping to use this motor for my 52, 3100. Motor is complete, all parts still attached except for valve cover which I removed. Is there a place to latch on to the crank for turning over the engine? A place to insert a bolt to put a wrench on? Or should I be able to grab the crank pully and turn it by hand?

A better way is to use the chisel-shaped end of a shepherd's crook wrecking bar between the flywheel ring gear teeth and the edge of the bellhousing.

I also have good luck using a flywheel turning tool if the engine isn't seized up. It's a tool that does what Jerry describes with the wrecking bar, but it locks itself into the flywheel instead of having to use the bellhousing for leverage. If you search 'flywheel turning tool' on eBay, you'll get several hits.
If you have the engine out, consider using one of Jerry's kits to tap the crank snout so that you can install the harmonic balancer with a bolt. Sure makes it easier to turn over the engine using the bolt.

You will either strip the thread or break the bolt on a seized-up engine. If it's free to turn, no problem. The 7/16-20 bolt can take 70-75 ft/lbs of torque without a problem, which is much more than a running engine needs.
Some balancers have a squared-off hole in the front that will accept a 3/4" square drive socket extension. If so, that's the best way to turn the crank, using a 3/4 drive ratchet or a breaker bar.
