Getting ready to send the 48 3600 out for paint, and was considering the Mariner Blue color. Does anyone have pics of a truck with mariner blue on it? The color chips from 1950 just aren't cutting it for me....

There were two codes/formulas for Mariner Blue.

My 1954 Suburban is the later formula. Check my website link, below.

Look in the Tech Tips for 47-55 paint codes.

The Mariner Blue on my truck looks a shade darker,- possibly the earlier code.

I don't care what color that is, you have a great looking truck!

One thing to remember when looking at colors on the computer screen, they all depend on the monitor type and driver settings.
CRT vs LED screens, video card settings, etc.
A difference of several shades on the same color from machine to machine is easy to get.
And that's not even getting into the differences in digital cameras or scanners.

Thanks guys. Very nice looking trucks indeed!! I may take Jim's advice and stop in the local paint shop to see what they can show me.

There is no such thing as an actual picture of any color.
The ONLY way to see it is with your very own lookers (eyeballs). Get a spray out done or even get a crash panel and spray it with a small amount of the color you think you will like.

and don't forget different color primers make the paint look different unless you get several good coats built up.
