I'm trying to fix my amber cab lights on the roof of my '57 6100. They used to work and the switch isn't that old. I have the truck sold and would like to get them working again for the new buyer. I've looked for the fuse box but haven't found it as of yet. To those in the know, where is it located? Am I not looking far enough under the dash? Thanks in advance! JP

if you do have a fuse panel it should be on the foot board above the clutch pedal, looks like this, but one wasn't installed factory unless there was a number of electrical options, and I doubt clearance lights were factory in '57

My '57 5700 LCF has no fuse block. Cigar lighter, electric wipers, heater and gages are the only interior load.

Could be why I can't find one. Above the clutch pedal was the first place I looked. Thanks JP

The roof clearance lights should be tied into the taillight circuit, did someone accidently hook then to the running lights (they go off when the headlights are ON)?

The roof lights were put on a separate light switch. They used to work. Since all 3 are out, I thought there was a fuse out. It's either a bad switch or the wire to the switch is unhooked. (Doubtful that all 3 bulbs would burn out at the same time). Thanks JP

That's easy enough to test with a simple test light...check for voltage on both terminals of the on/off switch and see if you have power. If no power, start tracing the hot wire back to the source and see what you find.

My buyer didn't care about the roof lights and took the truck like it was. Thanks for the help. JP
