How do you tell the difference between a truck hood ornament, which should have the slot under it for the center strip? and the hood ornament for a Chevy passenger vehicle. Looking for on on Ebay, not sure about the difference. Thanks!

There is no comparison. I have seen '48 Chevy passenger car hood ornaments on trucks. You grind some until it fits, but it has been done. The truck hood ornament was made only for trucks and Chev's of the forties, Jim Carter, American Classic all have them. Anyway the passenger hood ornament wasn't used on the trucks and vice verse. Go to one of the vendor websites and see what the truck hood ornament looks like.

this was in my 53'4400 when I got it.I don't know what it's from.kinda neat though,I thought about drilling a tunnel on the inside of the head and putting a small light in there but I don't know if I'd ruin it.
