I secured a short shaft water pump from NAPA. I now need a shallow pulley. Can anyone offer a source for one? I spoke to a woman at Jim Carter's "sales" desk. For the first time I was truly underwhelmed with the discussion. Anyway........ideas welcome.
Yes - I know they are offered as a kit "pump and pulley" but I bought most of them are not dual outlet for using the 261 bypass t-stat housing.

I have a 261 I pulled from a 55.1 truck, has high mount pump, no bypass thermostat, only one heat hose nipple on pump. Not sure if the thermostat bypass system was used on early 261, perhaps other will.

I imagine if you search the forums there are volumes written on the merits of the dual outlet pump and thermostat housing. Particularly when using with an 848 head. I've decided to use both. I bought a dual outlet water pump from Rock Auto but it does not come with a pulley, hence my journey to find one. 1947 - 3800 dually known as "Deadwrench"Link to a few photosIn this world there are givers and takers. I need one 2" deep. Probably the one everyone sells as a companion with the water pump. I just need a number I guess. 1947 - 3800 dually known as "Deadwrench"Link to a few photosIn this world there are givers and takers. I checked my spare 292 Ford pulleys for you. They are 2 1/2" deep and have a different bolt pattern. You can always turn the pulley 45 degrees and drill any bolt pattern you want if you can find one with the right offset. The center hole can also be drilled or machined to a bigger diameter or a bushing can be fitted to a too-big hole. I've even seen a good welder/machinist make a new center and weld it into a pulley when he needed something that was not available off the shelf. Jerry
