It is a '51 COE 2 ton (158" wheelbase)and maybe just that it's a little "stubby" is doing it, but everytime I look at it, it doesn't seem right. What do you think? BTW, it had an optional factory frame extension on the rear. Later someone welded another piece of channel over it for more strength and recently it was cut off about an inch or so from the standard frame (probably so it would fit on the trailer for shipping). http://s1276.photobucket.com/user/jsdesign2/library/51%20ceo | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy Jim Sears, the two crossmembers immediately aft of the cab mounting superstructure seem too close together to me. I have a 1939 Chev c.o.e. and 53 c.o.e. chassis, I'll have a look in the morning but it looks like a section of the chassis may have been removed. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,548 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,548 | That is indeed a original 158"in wheelbase COE chassis. Just like the one on my 48 5700 series COE out back. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 3 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 3 | Part of the reason the chassis looks funny is because the outside rear wheels are not on it....should have duals...
