On the drivers door, I have a 1/2" gap at the top towards the hood. It is less toward the back. The pass. side is better and more even.They close ok and line up with the belt line. If I can trust my memory, I believe they were that way before we removed them to install weather stripping. I can't imagine they came that way from the factory, but that was over 60 years ago. As I said, they close the way they should, it just looks kinda weird. Steve

Tim well, my friend/bodyman did and I helped. I need to see some close up photos.

AD door alignment is quite different than what most body men are accustomed to.
I will tell you this. I know how to do it, but it takes me all day. I don't care if I take off a perfectly fitting door and turn right around and put it right back on.
You need to study the door adjustment procedure posted by Tim. If you still have trouble after that, there are a few unconventional fixes we can go over.

It's absolutely well know the build quality when new was inconsistent at the very least and almost [censored] poor at times. Then 60 years of use and abuse does not make that fit and finish better over time.

Every cab I have worked on had evidence of extensive factory hand work and rework in the door openings. Just measure a large sample of factory doors and openings you might be surprised on the variables.

These are earlier year cab photos but they may help you on some adjustments. As said above, note the picture of the guy beating on the latch area with a chisel and hammer!

Thanks Tim, Carl and your great pictures Brad. Showkey I believe you're right in your statement. Since the belt line lines up and the door closes, I'll just deal with it. Just hope it does'nt leak. Steve
