Are there areas of the panel that require seam sealer? I have seen on here that some are sealing the drip edge but wasn't so sure of that, didn't see anything in that area when stripping paint. See what I can do without making too big a mess. Thanks | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 | King, Not sure what brand seam sealer you are using. I really liked the 3M Fast and Firm before they went to a new formula. Some guys love the new stuff... I'm not one of them. We use either SEM or 3M 2 part seam sealer now. It does require the special gun to go with it, but it does go on much better. We use reducer to dip our finger in to spread the seam sealer. This helps the seam sealer not stick to your fingers. Put some in a small cup and dip your finger often to keep things from getting out of control.
We use reducer because it generally will not effect the primer or other paint like lacquer thinner would....
Good luck!
