For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2017 Posts: 93 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2017 Posts: 93 | I can't seem to find my trucks make and engine size at the normal parts stores. NAPA does not even list a 261, Orielly only lists one for the 1960 truck, but returns no parts when I search (at least there was no oil filter). I tried some searches here for old threads, but I either get 1,000 returns, or 0, and skimming the thousand did not turn anything up.
Where do I go for items like plugs and wires and coils and oil filters and what not?
Thank you

These 1958 parts should work? Check Rockauto.com for 1958 Chevrolet truck - 261 engine. I think I use an AC-R43 on my 1959/1960 261s? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2017 Posts: 93 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2017 Posts: 93 | Thanks for the link. As far as I can tell, it is the Full Flow. Looks pretty similar to this guy http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1959trucksup/59ctsms0803.htmlI really wanted to change the filter before starting it for the first time. If you pull the oil filter element and clean it up, you should be able to cross-reference whatever brand and number is in there now to something that's available currently. Last resort, just button up the canister without a filter element inside for the time being, just to get it running. Jerry

Do show one for 61 and 62 in the C-20. 58-62 are identical so here's what they show: Condenser #DR60T $3.60 Points #9K5 2.40 Cap #5D1026 9.80 Rotor #4R1058 2.50 Wires #768 7.50 Coil #7B6 7.50 Ballast resister #RU10T 5.00 Oil filter #CH200PL 3.00
Quick scan shows a total of about $40

I will probably need some gaskets and what not as well. Fuel filter too, who knows what else. Thanks again Did a check on Rock Auto and no 261 listed for 1959. Is the full-flow filter or the by-pass filter.
