It is a big window deluxe truck. I drive by it fairly often, and today I noticed that in addition to the stainless around the windshield, back window and side windows, it has stainless molding on the fender opening edges. Was this part of the deluxe package for 59? The big back window was available in both Custom and Deluxe Cabs. The only chrome on the front fender is the emblem and headlight trim ring if it's a Custom Cab. I understand your frustration about him not wanting to talk to you but you're probably the 100th guy to stop and want to talk to the guy.
Try leaving a note on windshield explaining that you are NOT interested in buying it (if this is true) and that you'd just like to admire it with him. Share your story... maybe he'll share memories of his truck and his grandfather with you. I went through the whole story with his wife, emphasizing I had my own truck and was NOT trying to buy it. One day I will see him in the yard or out in the truck. I have a similar story about my granddad except his 58 got away, so I'm re-creating in his memory.
Got to test drive her today and all went well. I will have her home on Tuesday next week! | | |
