There's no need to drill- - -just chase the existing threads with a 3/8 NPT tap. Tinker with the threading depth a little until the plugs tighten well just as they get flush with the head casting

I haven't encountered that type of head, apparently. Is it the one with the integral intake manifold? If so, have it magnaflux-checked for cracks before you invest a lot of time and money in it. They're notorious for warping and cracking.

I bought it apart , and amazingly its std bore. Thinking of going w/a 4 bbl, and if I need heat for the intake, one of these ports would work well, I suspect. the 3/8 plugs are working well , down closer to the port, too. thanks for the help, Ed | | |
