I went to
http://www.haist-usa.com/artdecotrucks/ go to the links and select American Classic Truck Parts and search by the year of your truck.
They have a door handle ferrule tool that runs around $33.00 you may find it elsewhere for a better price. From what I have been reading you need this to remove and replace the door handles. Hope this helps

Wahoo40 - If you are just trying to remove the door handle you won't need the ferrule tool. There is a screw on the inside of the door that goes into the end of the door handle stem. Take that screw out and the handle should slide right out. There is nothing else holding it on. You shouldn't even have to take the interior door pannel off.

If it doesn't slide out you'll need to get some PB-Blaster or Liquid Wrench in there to loosen up the rust.

Good Luck
George

thanks for the reply, yes i took that screw out but the handle won't come out. i soaked it good with pb blaster and i'll let it sit overnight. i was getting thirsty anyway. i know the return spring in the latch is broken, hopefully ican get it apart and put in a new spring. thanks again.

If you need photos of the stuff that is cleverly hidden inside of the door let me know. I have the driver's side door on my '41 all apart.

Been there, done that. I have also found one behind the left headlight. My hinges were jamed but only took a little WD 40 to fix
