Bolters;

I'm in the process of rebuilding a 302 to install in my '53 GMC pickup. I think I'd like to set it up for an air conditioning unit as well. Does anyone who has done this before have any recommendations/lessons learned they might share with me?

My specific question right now concerns the best way to mount the compressor and alternator. Should I get a two-groove harmonic balancer, or just stay with the single groove and run the alternator off the compressor pulley? Does anyone make brackets, or will I need to fabricate my own?

Thanks;
Joe

I think Patrick has one if you can get him to produce in a timely fashion.

Thanks, Ed. I happened to be near Casa Grande for work and stopped in to see Patrick. He's been in the hospital and is still recovering. Spoke to Danese and she helped me out. I had the mounts in a week. Price was cheaper than anything else I had found as well.

I made a mount for compressor in the generator location kept single belt. Mounted a small alternator directly above the compressor (another home made bkt), used a second and shorter belt connecting compressor to alt. Took some tweaking to get t right but simple solution. Also there are kits just for this, Alan Drake I believe has all kinds, do a Google search. Hope Patrick is ok! Last couple items I tried to purchase were so far back ordered I gave up. Glad you got the bkts from Denise
Best of luck
