For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 264 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 264 | So on our truck we've decided to do a 'save' instead of a restore. Truck is overall great condition, mostly original or upgraded through it's career. Fire pump is on list as an eventually. Focus for now is on driveability. And of course lights and sirens.
Just wondering how many on here restore vs. save? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 | I did a "save" after getting my 57, I was going to make it a car carrier, but the wife and father-in-law voted against that. Three years later (2005/06) I did a repaint. I have now driven it 30k miles to and from truck/car shows, and couldn't be happier. Note, I did have a good foundation to work with. The brush truck I'm restoring now will be a full every nut and bolt restoration. This truck was a full project the day it came home...Tons of rust and not the running... Left the paint as-is. | | |
