How much heat xan an aluminum intake take before it starts to melt.does the chevy 261 produce enough heat to melt the aluminum intake?any an all messages are welcomed. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | No problems regarding cast Aluminum Alloy melting - 650+ degrees C, depending on the alloy recipe. (cast iron would be 1,000+ degrees C)
Cast Aluminum can warp, but that would probably not be a problem once it has been bolted and torqued into place. | | |
