will a 235 intake exhaust manifold fit on a 216 engine?

You'll need a set of special stepped-down intake alignment rings to be sure the smaller-diameter 216 intake passages center in the 235 manifold ports. A 216 carburetor will not bolt onto a 235 manifold, and the 235 carb will run lean on a 216.

It depends on the year. My '46 235 had the same manifolds as a 216, the '53 235 I replaced it with has different manifolds.
