How much did the distributors change on Big Bolts in the 30's? The vacuum advance on my '35 is shot and needs replaced. It is the original kind that turns the distrubutor. I can't find anything online going back that far, but I have found one that fits a '37. Will that work? I'm seriously considering taking mine apart and seeing what makes it tick. What is to lose? Maybe I can fashion some sort of vacuum fix.

If I can't find one can I just advance the timing that amount and run it on full advance? I'm used to old air cooled VW engines where total timing was what what strived for not the idle setting.
