hello every one is it posabull to change a 53 chevy front grill to a 54/55.1 grill. i love my split window but i have all ways loved the front 54 grill. my 53 grill is shot i need a new one do i need a hole new front clip or just the grill thanks steve

I think that you will find that there is a difference in the front of the fenders. There is a large depressed rectangle for the parking light and I would think that the grill or surround has to mate with this area.

Also, the '54/'55.1 grille is rounded at the top corners, with a corresponding roundedness in the fender, while the '47-'53 has a square corner.

Here\'s a pic of a '47-'53 fender. Compare that to this pic of a '54/'55.1 fender.

thats a round plug in a square hole, but it doesn't look as bad as a funky grill. I tried it on my 51 and wasn't unpleased with the look. I haven't bolted it all in yet.

I'm pretty sure you need the hood too, and the bumper is differant but I think it doesn't interfere. I know that the cabs are interchangeable.
