I asked this forum if I should shoot 2-part urethane over the EDP because that would be the same primer I would use on the raw steel (after etch-primer). The consensus was that it would be a good idea to scuff the EDP and spray 2-part urethane in order to make sure that paint was applied to the same base. and they seem as sturdy as the originals and they were packed very securely | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 35 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 35 | For something like the EDP coating, which is quite thin, I reccomend using a scotchbrite pad to scuff up the factory primer. The red pad has served me well for coating with primer. They conform to irregular surfaces better than sandpaper and you're less likely to scuff through the primer. Your local automotive paint store should have them in big sheets like 8x10.
