When starting cold it idles and runs like new. I can drive it about 10 miles and it will not idle. Just like you turned the key off at an intersection. It will instantly start up and run after that, but will not idle. I can let it cool down @ 10 minutes and it will idle fine. Any ideas? When choke is released--pushed in --- does it die? I would start with idle screw until it will idle --- and idle mixture screw may need adjustment. Start with idles mixture screw 1 1/2 turns out then adjust idle screw until it idles. I do a 1/4 turn till it starts to bog down then counter clockwise.
I also would look for a vacuum leak if you have no luck with the idle air. At idle a vacuum leak is much more noticeable.

Before you adjust yourself out of running, lets start with the basics.
First anytime an engine will not idle, vacuum leaks are first suspect. What have you done to find any? What approx. RPM is your idle set?
With cooler weather, it takes more time for these engines to run at idle correctly.

It will idle well until I drive it @ 10 miles or so. I have not looked for vacuum leaks yet. With the electronic ignition, I don't think I have a vacuum advance, but I will look for vacuum leaks. I think idle rpm is 600-750. It idles great in the driveway, but after a short drive it won't.
