For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 19 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 19 | I'm replacing all of the floor pans in my 51 AD and was looking for some pictures of a truck with the floor pans removed . I want to see where all of the supports are located. I crawed under and looked and all I saw was two on each side near the front. Is this all of them?

I slipped 2 pc's of angle iron between the trans opening and and the front braces for more support. Here's some pic's of mine at that stage. http://community.webshots.com/photo/377692314/377796742ofVYTW Curt B.

In that picture your passenger door gap at the bottom of the new cowl panel is very wide.
Was that a problem of the repo panel or installation?
Great set of progress pictures by the way, just needs comments added.

In order for the old fender(or whatever)and new cowl to lay snug together this area needs good trial fitting and patience. It wasn't like sliding down a razor blade for me though, it was more like a 24 beer degree of difficulty. The pc. behind the cowl(inner to outer panel)was also very uncooprative in making this corner work out. Changing that angle on the bottom made for a much better fender fit for me and it's pretty hard to see now. It also fit nicer to the door pillar inside when angled like that.I think you should be able to hold your fender up to the cowl with no more than 1/8" gap before welding for a nice job.
