I wasn't about to spend $75 + shipping for a pair of reproduction arm rests (which I've heard break easily), so I bought these leather cabinet door pull straps for $3.50 each.

What you do not have you do not miss.

1946 2 ton no vent windows or arm rests and whether driving or riding shotgun they are not missed.

2001 GMC Suburban still no vent windows and I still rest my arm on the door. Jeffrey drive

Those are excellent! I made mine from an old belt not nearly as nice as those but functional. They keep your hands from pulling on the door latch which weakens it or the door sill which soils it. I've since replaced them with these as pictured below:

These are from a buick with the same spacing as our AD's and are very sturdy.

I believe I've had these arm rest/pulls for at least ten years. The auction site said Buick but my only concern was that the mountings were the same on center distance as our dedicated threaded inserts in our doors. So, I'm thinking any early 50's Chevy, Pontiac, Olds or Buick from that era would be a candidate. I just made sure to ask the seller the on center spacing measurement before I committed to buy.

Got mine from the junk yard think they were off a early 80,s toyota. Look very simular to origional.just have to measure the mounting bolts from centre to centre. To make sure they fit
