For info on GMCs, you need to check out this site: http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/

BTW, I am originally from Hayward, but I left a long time ago. Did you grow up there? I did, graduated from Sunset High.

The GMC interior color was not the same as Chevy. The closest color match that I could come up with is a PPG color. It's DBU 3898. No clear coat is used. I did a lot of research on this and I believe it to be as close as one can get. It acually is a color used on the '86 Corvette. If you look at my trucks interior, you can get an idea of the color. Pictures are not the best of the interior, but should be close enough. Cecil.........

Kennedy Park? You must mean Airport Park. I guess I just showed my age. Nice area to live in, but I cannot afford a 1/2 million dollar house.

Cecil, where was your truck built? My dad's 51 350 (St. Louis line ... i.e. the Chebby plant) has a very silver/grey interior that looks like most Chebbies I've seen.

Hello from the Garden State of New Jersey. I'm the new kid on the block, first link-up message, so be gentle if you respond.

I have a 51 Chevy 5-window 1/2 ton pickup that's mostly been on blocks for the past five years in my garage....The old "retirement project," don't you know. Anyway, it's in pretty much original condition and had alot of work done on the exterior before I bought it. I'm now working on the interior and keeping it as original as possible. I too have a problem with the interior color stuff. The seat and side panels are brown and the painted interior color is a sort of bronze or what I would call a Dodge mini-van "champagne" color. Q: Anyone have any idea about the Chevy color name, where I can find it, etc.? Closist I've come is a Rust-Oleum spry called "bronze "Metallic." Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Sorry for the length of this messaage. Future ones will be short and on point.)
