The brake release rod has a spring near floor under release tab ,but it still hangs very loose. I seem to think there was a spring near the handle that kept it from rattling. Does someone have a picture ?

Brad, your two pics in your post appear to be two different designs, judging from the 90 degree twist in the locking bar in the second pic and the manner in which the bottom of t-handle is attached to the locking bar (one is threaded and the other is not). I am thinking that there is an error in the manual and the picture is actually for a '51. You would know better than I would, given all of the trucks you have pulled parts from. Carl

You are right I missed the spring and nut you describe as shown here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/advance-design_parts_co/8129470811/in/album-72157631868452754/The twist version came later, this rod should have the previous bend as shown, it was actually straightened. There are many small running changes, knobs, hardware, length of and design of dash brackets. That spring and nut does control the rattle somewhat. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 465 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 465 | | | | | | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 465 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 465 | going to replace pads before adjusting parking brake, do the 51-51 pads fit a 49' ?
