OK, I'm going to put all this in writing. Might be a little long but it needs to be said. I converted my enclosed drive to an open drive, keeping the enclosed rear axle housing. I put a later model ring gear and pinion 3:90:1 in the enclosed housing. Fit great. Had a new drive shaft built also. I set the pinion angle and welded the old brackets. Well they broke. Rubber and steel doesn't weld to good. Now I'm still using the old housing and have the new perches in place. They came with an off set hole so I could center the wheel in the fender housing. What I need to know is do I have to do any further aligning and how, or will it be good setting on the new spring perches? It looks good from what I see but I might not be seeing everything. I used the old housing because I want to use the emergency brake and keep the six lug wheels. . It will still look like it supposed to except for the open drive. anybody know anything about this. I'm at a standstill until i find out something. As always, thank you my friends.

Tape measure is your friend. I believe you are ok as long as everything remains square. I've never figured out how to weld rubber either. If it's driveable have someone follow you and see if the rear wheels follow the front.
