The 1948 GMC door window glass surround (door glass frame) is secured to the lower piece (channel) by 2 very small screws on each window. Are replacements available? I can't find them at the usual parts vendors. Mine are rusty, I'd like to drill them but only if something can easily replace them. Thx.

Try your local hardware store.

If you have a local Ace they will have them, you may have to shorten a longer screw but they will have something.

Ok, thanks for the suggestions. From the parts book, and from drilling the head off one, it looks like a 6-32 flat head screw from one end and a 6-32 flat head sleeve from the other side. I'll check locally.

Classicparts.com sells the screws and, the brass sleeve nuts which they screw into for $4.95 for both doors.

That's them. Thanks! Seems like not all the parts supplies carry them.

You can buy the tree nuts and brass screws at the hardware store. You just need to grind the nuts a little bit.
