For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 213 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2003 Posts: 213 | I'm working away on my truck, and it looks like the shaft is pretty pitted up. I have another one from a different truck, but whoever took it out pounded it out from the frame side and beat up the threaded end. Does anyone out there sell replacements? I've looked at a couple vendors, but no luck. Advice?
Thanks!

It is a many-sided file with different pitches on each side. It allows you to work on 3-4 threads at a time, working around the circumference of the bolt. Carl

I bought this one GM NOS for my 1954 in 2010. photo@photobucket http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/...rake_Shaft_3683044_b%202_zpsm4knzgk1.jpgGM # 0.833 - GM # 3683044 is available GM NOS @ NOS Parts Source Olathe, Kansas phone: 913-220-5746 NOS Parts Source has ( 1 ) GM # 3683044 in stock George '54 3600 | | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 213 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2003 Posts: 213 | The guy mushroomed the end of the shaft pretty bad, but I do have a friend with the tap & die stuff around, so we will give it a try. Thanks for a great lead, George! I had a feeling it wasn't out there in the reproduction world.
Thanks, Guys!! | | |
