I bought a really nice steering wheel ()no cracks) to replace the cracked one on my 1957 Chevy 6100. I was told it came off of a '58 or '59 Chevy truck. It's different than my steering wheel. Is there any way to identify what it fits? Could someone send me a picture of theirs? Or PM me your e mail and I'll send you a pictures/measurements of the one I have. If I can determine what it fits, I'll post it for sale. Thanks JP

There's some steering wheel info in this thread. Don't know if it will help you or not.

Thanks for the info. The steering wheel I bought must be for a 55/56 truck. I know where a '55/2 LCF is located. I will take mine and compare. The wheel on my '57 6100 is definitely a "dished" steering wheel. JP

The 1957-59 wheels are the same for Series 3, 4, 5 & 6 (dished 18")

The big trucks Series 7, 8, 9 & 10 have 20" dished wheels.

55-56 have flat wheels.

Here is the one in my 58 (which is identical to the one from my 59)

Sorry, that is the only pics I have of them at the moment.

Looks like I bought a 55/56 steering wheel. It is definitely flat and not dished like my '57. I measured it today and it's 18 inches across. I'm still going to check the local '55 LCF that I know of, before I post it for sale. Thanks to all! JP

ALL 55/56 wheels are 18", they didn't start using the 20" until 1957.

Well I compared it to the '55 5100 LCF and it doesn't match it either. The LCF steering wheel is a pancake compared to the one I bought. My wheel is somewhere between the dished one on my '57 6100 and the '55 LCF. Flatter than the '57, but not as flat as the '55. I may just send you an e mail with pictures. Thanks JP

Got your pictures...I can't ID that wheel, it's not 55-59...

I would discribe it as a shallow dish with three narrow spokes equally spaced apart.

Maybe someone else whats to give it a try???
