I believe I have the correct replacement but unsure about attaching. I have no pictures or 41's nearby to look at. Anybody have any illustrations etc.

There is an indent in the cowl where the seal goes. You will also need the clips that hold the seal to the cowl. Screws go through the seal and the clips into the body at each rounded indent on the cowl. There should already be holes for these screws. There 4 on each side. The seal starts in the middle by the hood hinge across the top of the cowl and down the side.
Check out some of the vendors, they may have an illustration of how the seal is attached.
Hope this helps. George

I bought the seal from Chevs of the 40s with six clips and no info. | | | | Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,321 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,321 | Maybe THIS will help. Harold

I was able to install one side and it looks great. Now it's time to put in another order to Chevs of the 40s for a bag of clips. Much appreciated. | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,383 Ex Hall Monitor | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,383 | I was wondering how similar the cowl lace was to the '38. The '38 had those clips just at the ends with a "J" hook between. J hook. End clip.
