New project is a 55 2-ton and 58 2-ton. I am going to make an extended cab out of them and end up with one truck. (not a 4-door, more like adding 1/2-2/3 of the door length). We need a beefier tow rg than the Suburban for our 1951 Royal Spartanette travel trailer (also in the project stage). | | | | Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 154 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 154 | I'm in the Bridal Trails area of Bellevue. I have a 49 1/2 ton I bought off eBay a couple years ago. It's nearly 100% stock and in very good running condition, but has definitely been used over it's life. It's part of my retirement plan to spend time restoring it.

Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that you just twisted the head off of that bolt...

Front wheels are off, brakes apart, hoping new cylinders from O'Riley's will get her stopping on demand again.

Maybe a little heat on the bleeder screws? sometimes just heating them up and letting them cool will loosen them up. | | | | Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 3 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 3 | I'm a new member from Shoreline area. I'm replacing the heater fan motor. The only issue at this time is the window washer doesn't shut off, if the button is pushed it will run till the tank is empty! Looking for replacement switch mechanism.

Have you checked Ebay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-60-61-62-63-Chevy-Truck-Windshield-Washer-Wiper-Switch-2-Speed-GMC-1963-/311957473021?hash=item48a21d46fd:g:SS0AAOSw6YtZSahZ&vxp=mtr
When we had our 59 Suburban, I think I ended up getting one out of a 64-66. I had to make the hole in the dash larger and buy some super fine nuts off Ebay but, it was brand new instead of all old contacts inside. | | | | Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 3 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 3 | I got the heater motor replaced. I had to modify the wheel, the raplacement motor shaft was smaller than the stock. The replacement came with a shim to fit the shaft. This allowed the wheel to spin on the shaft. I drilled and tapped the wheel and put in a set screw. It wo is great now!
