I find that my old carb equipped engines need more air than fuel to start once they're warmed up.
If you still have the stomp starter, try using your heel to open the throttle while your toe pushes the starter. Don't pump the carb, open it while it's cranking.

With a warmed engine: - Slowly push the pedal to floor and then release. - Give just a little throttle (or, no throttle, depending on your engine). - Turn on the ignition key and push the starter pedal. | | | | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 2,715 Carburetion specialist | Carburetion specialist Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 2,715 | Good carburetion is fuelish hot airThe most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify. Don't recall anyone using it for anything other than standard operating procedure. Must be a military thing......
If all the above fails you can try this: SLowly floor the pedal (as Carbkings article says to avoid squirting fuel into the carb)then while cranking slowly let up on the pedal. I've used that procedure successfully before too.
