I have the new window glass and the setting tape, just how is the tape installed? CD said in oil , but thats all they said, can anyone go further then that? Thanks again, Paul

I brushed oil on both sides then installed, hand pressure or a rubber mallet used gently. ^The oil swells the tape to get a seal. Brian

According to the shop manual you should put the tape in dry, insert glass then soak the tape.

I put the tape in, slowly slide the glass in place, used a rubber mallet to get the glass to fit, remember to check periodically the glass depth when closed, you don't want to get the glass in to deep so you don't get a good seal when closed to the window frame.

After I had the glass where I wanted it, I used a rag and mineral spirits to soak the tape, then I trimmed the tape after is sat overnight.

Took me about 30 minutes per window on my 55.1.

I soaked the tape in oil for a couple hours then installed it. After I put the glass in I set it all in front of a heat blower to dry it out. Worked just fine.
