While changing my metal jacketed park brake cables with plastic jacket type I attempted to open the clamp a bit so the larger cable would fit and promptly broke the clamp. Then I moved on to the other side and carefully tried again with the same results. I can weld the clamps back but that is not going to make the cables fit. Any of you had this issue or am a lone bone head?

I think the bracket maybe cast...so brazing might be a good fix. | | | | Joined: Jul 2015 Posts: 135 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2015 Posts: 135 | Well welding proved unsuccessful so I placed the ferrule part of the cable 3/4's into the clamp and tightened the heck out of the broken piece. It stays put when cable is pulled by hand. I may need to fabricate brackets I can bolt to the existing one I suppose.
