Here is an easy one for you. Do I have to drain the differential before I remove the axle shaft?

Thanks

If there isn't a drain plug, put speedy dry (kitty litter) or a catch pan under the axle end to catch the oil that will come out.

A small amount of oil will leak out. Park with the axle in need of repair up-hill (or jack stand) and no leaks.
