Original paint?
I buy the most expensive, strongest, paint remover at Home Depot.
Use it outside, if you can - do not breathe the fumes and do not get it on your skin - oh yeah, it will probably eventually destroy any type of protective gloves. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 442 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 442 | I used Citrus stripper, available at H Depot, Walmart etc.. It's orange in color, environmentally safe and not obnoxious fumes. I used it stripping off 4 coats of paint. You will never get it out and it will continue to strip the paint off for many years to come. Most of the time I use 80 grit DA to remove paint. If it's something large like a hood I may use paint stripper, but I stay away from the edges by a couple inches and sand that portion off. The last thing you want after new paint is for it to bubble up due to the paint stripper.

There is no way I would use it on anything that has a seam unless you can take it apart.
