Any recommendation for a paint stripper? Particularly for the door trims. Tried Goof off and lacquer thinner without much success. Thanks, Scott

I buy the most expensive, strongest, paint remover at Home Depot.

Use it outside, if you can - do not breathe the fumes and do not get it on your skin - oh yeah, it will probably eventually destroy any type of protective gloves.

I used Citrus stripper, available at H Depot, Walmart etc.. It's orange in color, environmentally safe and not obnoxious fumes. I used it stripping off 4 coats of paint. Mike

Scott, Be very careful not to get paint stripper in any seems. You will never get it out and it will continue to strip the paint off for many years to come. Most of the time I use 80 grit DA to remove paint. If it's something large like a hood I may use paint stripper, but I stay away from the edges by a couple inches and sand that portion off. The last thing you want after new paint is for it to bubble up due to the paint stripper.

As long as you are going to sandblast it next, or completely clean it everywhere first, paint stripper is an option. There is no way I would use it on anything that has a seam unless you can take it apart. The best paint stripper is Arm-Strong.
