I shut the hood this afternoon and a coiled spring fell out, landing on the ground. I don't know where it came from, but the hood now won't stay in the fully closed position. The latch will only hold the hood in that upper, safety position. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d...up/hood%20latch%20spring_zpsvxihgy7h.jpgIt's about an inch and a half in diameter. Anyone know where it goes? A pic would be wonderful!

If your hood release lever just flops around, that's probably the reason your hood won't latch. The spring has to be there to keep the latch that catches the plunger on the hood closed. It's probably held in place by a couple of sheet metal tabs bent over the tang and the center bar.
